[비즈니스 영어] '너무 많은 일을 감당하고 있어, 버겁다' 어떻게 얘기할까?
관용어구로 'take on' 을 활용해 여러 상황에서 쓸 수 있습니다.
#1: Take on responsibility (~~~한 역할을 담당하고 있다고 얘기하고 싶을 때)
새로운 업무를 맡거나, 역할을 확장할 때 쓰는 표현입니다.
Example:
I’m taking on a ton of new duties at work. It’s been a huge learning curve since Patricia left.Charlie, if you can take on the new account, that would be great.
You can also use it to share information about your workload.
Example:
I honestly took on too much this past year. I think I need to take a vacation.
#2: Facing challenges (업무에 애로를 겪고 있을 때)
또한 너무 많은 일을 감당하고 있어! 라고 얘기하고 싶을 때 씁니다.
Example:
She’s taking on so much now with her new job and her volunteer work. I don’t know how she does it.
#3: Hiring (R&R 관련해서 얘기하기 위해 고용을 할 때)
고용에 대해 얘기하면서, 누군가를 고용하고 싶다고 얘기할 때
take on 'new accountants or developers' 을 쓸 수 있습니다!
Examples:
The company doesn’t want to take on any new employees until they see their earnings for Q1.If he would just take on one more accountant, our lives would be so much easier!
#4: Compete against/challenge (경쟁을 시키고 싶을 때)
"let's take on the sales team" 우리 팀 경쟁을 시킬 생각이다.
Example:
Let’s take on the sales team with a little friendly competition. Make it interesting.

Michelle: So the boss wants us to take on our competition by really boosting our marketing budget.
